Entry Fee $289 per 5 person team, $145 per 2 person team, $85 per solo   marathoner.

Race Time

3 start times:

7:30 a.m.  This start time is for walkers–either walking teams or solo marathoners.  Our timers and all volunteers will go home at 3 p.m.  If you start at 7:30 a.m. you can walk slowly and still finish prior to 3 p.m.  THIS START TIME IS ONLY FOR WALKERS.

8:00 am.  Choose this start time if you’d like an earlier start.  This will help alleviate congestion at the exchange zones.    You can also use this start time if you think that finishing within 6 hours will be a challenge.

9:00 a.m.    The majority of solo runners and teams will use this start time.  You can voluntarily chose the 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. start, however, we encourage the most competitive runners to use the 9 a.m. start.

Team Size Solo, 2 person team, 5 person team (3 or 4 runners may compete as a 5 person team).
Team Category Business, Family, School, Clydesdale, or Open.
Team Division Men’s Team, Women’s Team, Coed, Masters Men, Masters Women, Masters   Mixed, Junior Boys (under 18), Junior Girls, & Junior Mixed.
Race Start The Three Capes Relay starts at the intersection of Bayocean Rd. NW and Bayshore Drive adjacent to Cape Meares Lake.
Race Finish Whalen Island detour for this year.

Parking

Please park individual vehicles at the Tillamook High School parking lot and come together in one shuttle vehicle per team to the start line.  Start line parking is limited.  Please park along Cape Meares Lake or the shoulder of the road going out to the Spit.  If you park near the start line, park in the direction you will be leaving to minimize congestion after the start.

Volunteers will be at each exchange point directing people where to safely park.

Leg 1, traffic  Runners will run through closed patch of road while traffic will use newly opened road. 
Shuttle Bus If you are a solo runner and need a ride from Pacific City (finish line area) to the start please see details here.  Sign up for the shuttle using this form.  Runners (some walking okay) will be picked up at 7:30 am for a 9:00 am start.  Walkers will be picked up at 6:30 am for a 7:30 am start.
Bathrooms

There will be bathrooms or port-a-potties at the following locations in order (plus some):

1.  At the start.

2.  Cape Meares Light House, adjacent to course.

3.  Oceanside Beach Recreational Area, 100 yards from exchange point one.

4.  Netarts Community County Park, adjacent to course.

5.  Exchange point 2, start of leg 3 at the Whiskey Creek Fish Hatchery South parking lot.  A port-a-potty will be in the main parking area (just past the hatchery).  There will also be a bathroom available as a backup at the fish hatchery.

6.  Exchange point 3, start of leg 4, at the top parking lot at Cape Lookout State Park.

7.  Exchange point 4, start of last leg, at Whalen Island County Park.  The bathroom facility is at the park 1,000 meters from the exchange via Whalen Island Rd.

8.  Finish line at Web County Park

T-Shirts T-shirts come along with the registration cost for those teams registering before Feb. 15th.  T-shirts will not be included for those registering after Feb. 15th.
Timing Milepost Adventures will provide timing services for the 3 Capes Marathon Relay.  The finishing runner on each team will need to wear the bib with the chip.  They will be specially marked.  We will keep finish times for teams, but individual leg times need to be kept by the team.  We will provide a split sheet for you to fill out during the race.  You can then submit split times online to be a part of the archive.  Finish times will be available at the finish, but leg times will not be available until later that weekend.  They will be posted on the website at www.threecapesrelay.com.
Awards Every participant will receive a custom Three Capes Relay Medal when crossing the finish line.  There will be no awards given to winning teams as the finishing time is so staggered.
Pre-Race Packet Pickup & Late Registration Team captains please pick up your packets from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the foyer of Tillamook High School on Feb. 23rd.  You can also register up to this time.  Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race from 7-8:30 am near the starting line, but no new registrations will be accepted at that time.
Registration Register for this event using our online form.  Start by filling out our online form on the registration page.  Then use our online shopping system to purchase your entrance online.  Register by Feb. 10th to be guaranteed a free race t-shirt.
Runner Safety The road will not be closed so runners need to be aware of oncoming traffic. Runners should run on the left side of the road. Runners, teammates, and support personnel are highly encouraged to wear a reflective vest or florescent shirt.  Runners need to understand that they need to take their safety serious and great care must be exercised at all times by runners and team vehicles.
Aid Stations Water and Gatorade will be available at all leg exchanges.  An aid station will be at the finish line.  All leg exchange points will have an official who can radio ahead for help or take you to the finish line.
Benefits Who? The 3 Capes Marathon Relay benefits the Ultimook non-profit, a newly formed Oregon non-profit corporation.  The Ultimook has 3 legs in which it benefits.  The Tillamook Distance Project (high school cross country and track program), Ultimook Running Camp (youth running camp), and the Ultimook Track Club (region-wide youth running club).
